2nd World Homeshare Congress, Cologne 2011

Report on the 2nd World Homeshare Congress – Cologne –

1 and 2 July 2011

Homeshare International was pleased to welcome 30 delegates from 8 different countries to Cologne. The programme was really useful for programme co-ordinators, and representatives of established programmes were able to share information with those just starting up. New programmes are starting in Ireland and in Japan, and further details will be available on the directory of programmes in due course. We were most grateful to the City of Cologne (Stadt Köln), the University of Cologne, Bruderhaus Diakonie (Germany) and Elderly Accommodation Counsel (UK) for their support and sponsorship

Please follow the links to presentations from Kirby Dunn on the story of Homeshare in USA, the exciting developments of Homeshare in Japan reported to us by Mamiko Miyahara, different Management models from Beris Campbell, plus an update about Homeshare in Australia, and Homeshare Business planning from Alain de Penfentyo. In the UK both NAAPS (now called Shared Lives) CEO Alex Fox and Cathy Mandaza from Crossroads Homeshare gave very useful updates.

Details on our Congress speakers are here

Two excellent reports of the Congress can be read – one from Beris Campbell of HANZA and the other from Alex Fox – CEO NAAPS – has written a most informative report into the congress which is available here: Congress Report
